Ahmedabad : All 26 Lok Sabha seats in Gujarat are scheduled for polling in a single phase on May 7. According to Gujarat Chief Electoral Officer P Bharathi, the nomination process will commence on April 12. The final date for submitting nominations is April 19, with scrutiny scheduled for the following day. Bharathi also mentioned that the deadline for withdrawal of nominations is April 22.

With five Lok Sabha seats in Ahmedabad district, there are a total of 6,039,145 registered voters, comprising 3,133,284 men and 2,905,622 women. According to a report by news agency PTI, among these voters, 30,730 are persons with disabilities (PwDs)

In accordance with guidelines from the Election Commission (EC), provisions have been made for voting from home for electors with disabilities exceeding 40 per cent.

Online Application Procedure:

1. Visit the Official Website: Navigate to the homepage of the Election Commission of India (ECI), the designated platform for online voter ID registration.

2. Explore the Website: The ECI website provides comprehensive information on India's electoral process, including electoral rolls, upcoming election schedules, voter guidelines, and various application forms.

3. Select the Form: Choose Form 6 from the array of forms available for new voter applications.

4. Access the National Voters Service Portal: Here, you can either complete Form 6 online or download it for offline submission, depending on your preference and residential status.

5. Complete the Form: Ensure to provide accurate details and upload necessary documents such as a passport-sized photograph, identity proof (e.g., birth certificate or PAN card), and address proof (e.g., utility bill or driving license).

6. Submit the Form: After filling out the form and uploading documents, click the "Submit" button.

7. Track Application Status: Upon submission, expect to receive an email containing a link to your personal Voter's ID page, where you can monitor the status of your application.

8. Await Voter ID Card: Your Voter ID card will be dispatched to your registered address within a month of the application date.

Offline Application Process:

1. Visit Voter Registration Centre: For offline applications, visit the nearest Voter Registration Centre in Gurugram.

2. Fill Out the Form: Obtain Form 6, complete it accurately, and submit it along with necessary documents for verification.

3. Biometric Data Collection: Undergo biometric data collection, including fingerprint scanning and iris recognition.

4. Receive Acknowledgment Receipt: Upon successful submission, receive an acknowledgment receipt as proof of application.

5. Follow-up: Keep abreast of the application status using the acknowledgment receipt. Transitioning to a New Voter ID Card:

1. Access the NVSP: Visit the National Voters' Services Portal and locate the 'e-PIC Download' option.

2. Enter Details: Provide your EPIC number or Form Reference No. and select your state of residence.

3. OTP Verification: Validate your identity by entering the OTP received on your registered mobile number.

4. Download e-PIC: Once verified, download your new Voter ID card. Verification Process: 1. Visit NVSP: Head to the National Voters' Services Portal and choose "Search in Electoral Roll." 2. Fill Out the Form: Provide the required details for verification.

- Applicant's Details: Fill in personal information, including name, gender, birth details, and family member details.

- Address Particulars: Provide residential address details, including pin code, district, and contact information.

- Supporting Documents: Upload documents such as a photograph, identity proof, and address proof. - Declaration: Confirm citizenship, residency, and declare not applying for Voter ID elsewhere.
