GRAMBLING, La – May 1, 2020 – Today, Grambling State University announced student eligibility guidelines for Congress’ Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. On March 27, the federal government announced that $12.56 billion of the $2 trillion stimulus package distributed to institutions of higher education using a formula based on student enrollment.

“Ensuring our students receive every possible resource to recover from COVID-19 related losses and complete their education is essential,” said President Rick Gallot.

Grambling State University received $7 million in federal support, $3.5 million of which to distribute to students who meet the criteria:

All students are not eligible for CARES Act grant assistance and those who are not eligible will not have access to the application. Students who meet pre-qualification to apply for CARES Act grant assistance will find the application in their student portals beginning May 8, 2020.
